New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry admits being a goalkeeper is something he would certainly not want to do. The former Arsenal star told the NY Post that keepers have the hardest job on the football pitch and would not like to be the man with the gloves.
Henry's comments came after Bouna Coundoul's goalkeeping error in the 2-2 draw with San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday but the Frenchman insists that he is not pointing the blame at anyone.
"When a keeper does a mistake, it's a goal. It's a tough job. At the moment, it does seem like it happens a lot. You can't blame them; it's the way it is. But at the end of the day, it's a fact. You can't say they didn't make a mistake. They know,'' said Henry.
"I wouldn't like to be a goalkeeper. You make a mistake and the whole stadium is looking at you, and the goal is over and over again on all the channels.
"We're here to help, but on the same side that cost us some points You go through patches as a striker or a midfielder. But the hardest thing about goalkeeper is nobody can help you. If you do a mistake nobody can help you.
"You have to feel for them, but on the other side, it's kind of frustrating.''
