Ex-Ajax midfielder Rosales commits to Seattle Sounders

Mauro Rosales has finally signed a new contract with Seattle Sounders.

Mauro Rosales has finally signed a new contract with Seattle Sounders.

The 30-year old Argentine attacker has been in discussions with the club for a while and has now put pen to a multi-year deal although the terms of the new contract have not been released.

Rosales, who provided 13 assists and scored five goals in 26 appearances in 2011, was delighted to have committed his future to the Sounders.

"I really am enjoying being here with the guys, with the team, with the people and the city," said Rosales. "In the first year I was thinking just to play, to enjoy the game, and it was a season of great joy.

"I want to express my gratitude to Adrian Hanauer, Chris Henderson, Sigi Schmid and my representative, Dario Sala, for making it possible for to play for Sounders FC, both this past year and going forward. I am very happy to be in Seattle, playing for our wonderful fans."
