Everton striker Andy Johnson is out of England's Euro2008 qualifiers after suffering an ankle injury in yesterday's defeat against Newcastle.

Everton manager David Moyes told Sky Sports News after the game: "It was a good day for him but he's going in to have an operation on Monday.

"He's got an ankle operation, he's got a groin strain, so he's going to miss the next three or four weeks."
