Everton defender Brendan Galloway says a lot of his development has come due to the influence of U21s boss David Unsworth.
42-year-old Unsworth played more than 300 games for the Toffees over two spells through the 1990s and early 2000s and has helped 19-year-old Galloway adapt to life as a Premier League footballer.
Both Unsworth and Galloway are capable at left-back and centre-back and the youngster acknowledges the guidance of his mentor has been invaluable.
"I've improved in knowing how to play in the Premier League," Galloway told the Liverpool Echo.
"I was new to it at first but in the games I've played, I've settled in but even towards the back end of last season, when I was still with David Unsworth in the U21s, he taught me a lot about what to expect in the Premier League.
"So there were no surprises. He's played a huge amount of games for Everton and so he knows what it takes."
