Everton yet to fulfil potential - Martinez

Despite an impressive first half of the 2013/14 Premier League season, Everton are yet to fully hit their straps according to manager Roberto Martinez.

The Toffees find themselves in fourth place with 37 points from 19 matches following Sunday's 2-1 win over Southampton at Goodison Park but Martinez is looking for even more from his ever-improving squad.

"Thirty-seven points is an outstanding return half-way through the season," he said.

"But I think there is room for improvement and that is the target we have from now until the end of the season.

"I don't think we have fulfilled our potential yet.

"You will always hear me saying it is impossible to set a target in December.

"In the league, all we are doing is taking it game by game, and we are quite happy now to see where we are.

"But we are just trying to get as many points as we can."
