Everton U21 coach Unsworth disappointed with Liverpool defeat

Everton U21 coach David Unsworth was disappointed with their mini-derby defeat to Liverpool.

The young Blues took the lead courtesy of Harry Charsley's strike, but a Ryan Kent brace and Sheyi Ojo penalty resigned the Toffees to a 3-1 defeat in the second mini-derby of the season.

"It's obviously disappointing," Unsworth told evertonfc.com. "I thought we controlled big chunks of the first half and got our goal, but then they scored a goal out of the blue, which was a great finish from the lad, and I think it was fairly even after that.

"Second half, we came out and started brightly, but the goals we conceded were really poor and we couldn't get in the game after that which was disappointing.

"It's a tough one for us to take. I thought we looked like we warranted something for big spells, but we can't concede goals the way we did and expect to win games."
