Everton have handed trials to free agent Tyrone Mears.
The People says the Toffees are giving right-back Mears the chance to impress on a trial.
The former Derby, Marseille, West Ham and Burnley defender is a free agent after his contract expired at Bolton Wanderers in the summer.
