Everton are reportedly close to finalising an £8million deal for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

The Guardian is reporting that Evans could be on his way out of Old Trafford after nine seasons with the Red Devils and Goodison Park appears to be his most likely destination.

United we believed to be seeking £10million for Evans, but Everton valued the Northern Ireland international at £6million, resulting in the two clubs meeting halfway.

Evans was only used sparingly by United manager Louis van Gaal last season, paving the way for his departure from the club.
