Everton are hoping to hijack Crystal Palace's bid to sign Steve Mandanda.
The French goalkeeper is out of contract at Marseille this summer and it is expected that he will be soon on his way to the Premier League.
Palace were believed to be closing in on the 30-year-old but according to Foot Mercato, Toffees officials will meet with the player's agent Stephane Courbis after returning with an improved offer.
It is understood that Everton, who were keen on Mandanda a few weeks back, have proposed a three-year deal and will hold discussions with his representative on Wednesday.
