Everton teammates face-off today in Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final

Everton teammates will face-off today at Wembley.

Today is the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final between Oxford United and Barnsley, meaning loanees Jonjoe Kenny and Callum Connolly are set to line up against each other.

The pair might well be teammates at Finch Farm and in Everton's Under-21s setup - but this weekend, both will be doing all they can to come out on top and get their hands on silverware.

“I've been away with Callum with England Under-19s and we've been speaking about it," Kenny told evertonfc.com. “It will be weird being up against him if we both play but what a day it would be. We're both looking forward to it.

“All the lads out on loan happen to be quite a close group so we've all kept in touch.

“I did say at the start of the season that I wanted to go out on loan, but I didn't think it would end up like this. I've needed to take my chances and thankfully I've done well. It was tough to come into a winning team but I've really enjoyed my time here [at Oxford]."
