Everton striker Apostolos Vellios is delighted with his progress this season.

Speaking to evertonfc.com after winning both the Young Player of the Year award and Supporters' Clubs Young Player of the Year, Vellios expressed his delight at the recognitions.

"I am really happy," he said. "I want to say a big thanks to all the Blues who voted for me.

"I'm so proud. It has given me more confidence for the future to be better.

"I looked at the names of the previous winners and it's a big honour that my name will be there with them.

"It was a good season for me, but I think I have many surprises for next season."
