Everton are closing in on the signing of Fulham's Maarten Stekelenburg.
According to the Liverpool Echo, new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is keen to reunite with the Dutch goalkeeper who spent last season on loan at Southampton.
Veteran gloveman Tim Howard has departed Goodison Park, leaving only Joel Robles in the senior keeping stocks, and Koeman wants Stekelenburg to make the move to Merseyside from Fulham.
It is understood the the Cottagers are eager to get the 33-year-old's £25,000-a-week wages off their books and will reportedly allow him to leave for Everton for a fee of less than £1million.
