Adult season ticket prices at Everton are to rise for the first time in three years, but a new £95 initiative has been launched for under-11s. Trials of £5 FA Cup tickets for school children in year 6 and below has seen 18,000 youngsters go through the turnstiles during the club's run to the quarter-finals and the incentive has been extended to a season ticket for Premier League matches in the 2012/13 campaign.
Adult tickets have gone up by 3% with the most expensive £672 and the cheapest just £399 - and no under-16s will pay more than £199.
"There is no getting away from it, a lot of our adult season ticket holders will see an increase but we believe it is a relatively modest price increase.
"It is managing the pressure of an ever-more competitive Premier League with the need to continue delivering value for money.
"We hope they (fans) understand the reasons we are doing it and hope they look back on previous occasions when prices haven't gone up."
Elstone added on evertontv: "We are tasked with driving our revenues and increasing gate receipts but we can't do that to the detriment of not delivering value for money.
"It stacks up well against our rivals. I still think the prices are good value for money." "We have been absolutely delighted by the response to the £5 FA Cup games - that tells us there is lots of demand for young Evertonian's to come to Goodison," said chief executive Robert Elstone.
