Everton now definitely in a relegation battle - Jagielka

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has confirmed the worst for supporters of the Merseyside club.

The Toffees have lost their past two Premier League fixtures and have saluted just once since December 15 to find themselves 14th on the table which suggests to centre-back Jagielka that a relegation battle is now on the Goodison Park agenda.

"Yeah, I think so," Jagielka told the Liverpool Echo.

"With 10 games to go that is not where you want to be.

"We still have that six-point gap (on 18th spot), but we are not taking anything lightly. We have some tough games coming up and we're not where we want to be so we need to start winning sooner, rather than later.

"We know we need to concentrate on our league form. We have 10 games left now and need to pull our finger out and start picking up points."
