Everton move for Wigan's Koumas

Premier League rivals Everton are strongly fancied to renew their interest in Wigan's Welsh international midfielder Jason Koumas, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Koumas has surprisingly failed to hold down a regular place in the Latics starting line up following his £5m transfer from West Brom last season.

This time last year, Wigan were facing strong competition from Everton to sign him and eventually landed the Welsh ace but it's not happened for him at the JJB.

He started reasonably well under Chris Hutchings but has mainly been on the bench since Steve Bruce took over.

Celtic enquired about taking Koumas to Glasgow on loan at the turn of the year. He has also been linked with Blackburn but is said to favour a move to Everton should a transfer materialise.
