Everton midfielder Mo Besic set to leave Sheffield Utd

Everton midfielder Mo Besic is set to leave Sheffield United.

The Liverpool Echo says Besic is not expected to extend his loan with Sheffield United beyond the end of the month.

The Premier League are allowing clubs to extend contracts that are due to run out on June 30 as the delayed season looks set to be played out into July and possibly August.

Besic has been on a season-long loan to Sheffield United and there have been talks over a potential extension of the deal but it is likely that the midfielder will leave Bramall Lane at the end of his current contract.

The 27-year-old will be back on Everton's payroll from July 1 but as he enters the final year of the five-and-a-half-year deal he signed in early 2016, he is expected to be made available for sale or loan again this summer.
