Everton midfielder Allan: Benitez will lift our game

Everton midfielder Allan is happy working with new manager Rafa Benitez.

The 30-year-old now has now taken part in a few weeks of training this summer under his new manager and played in both of Everton's matches in Florida at the end of last month.

Allan told evertonfc.com: “It has been a great experience with the new manager. Mister Benitez has vast experience and won trophies in various countries.

“He's come with the big advantage of being able to raise our game, tactically and technically, and have a great season with us.

“When I arrived at Napoli, he had just left. My teammates spoke highly of him, a hard-working, dedicated guy.

“Someone who was attentive to all parts of training and games. I hope we can achieve great things together at Everton this season.

“He is very active during training, always instructing the players to move and pass the ball better.

“For those of us in midfield, he always asks for us to keep it as simple as possible, two touches of the ball, always look to play forward... and to always have a compact line so we're prepared for all types of games."
