Everton make £18m move for Sunderland defender Kone

Everton have reportedly made an £18million bid for Sunderland's Lamine Kone.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Ivory Coast international, 27, was making his way to Merseyside on Monday night to finalise personal terms over a move to Goodison Park.

However, the Black Cats and Toffees are yet to agree a fee for Kone who was signed from Lorient for just £5m in January this year.

Ronald Koeman is determined to land a quality centre-back before he allows John Stones to leave for Manchester City and has made Kone a priority, along wth Swansea City captain Ashley Williams.

But on the other side of the coin, David Moyes does not want to lose Kone before bringing in a central defensive replacement of his own.
