The Daily Express says Anichebe is facing a lengthy absence for Everton after scans revealed he damaged his groin playing for Nigeria.
Striker Victor Anichebe could be sidelined for up to three months - a blow for manager David Moyes, who released Yakubu and Jermaine Beckford in the transfer window.
