Everton insist no crisis after Wyness resignation

Everton insist there's no crisis after chief executive Keith Wyness' resignation this week.

And club sources have made it clear on Wednesday there is no crisis at the Premier League outfit and it is a case of "business as usual".

A club spokesman said: "The board will meet in about a fortnight to discuss the situation."

Everton are also unlikely to advertise the post because they believe the opportunity to take charge of one of the country's biggest clubs should provoke a list of high-quality applicants.

It is expected Robert Elstone, chief operating officer and deputy chief executive, will take on the job in a caretaker capacity.
