Everton hero Tim Cahill: We've lost our identity. Moyes is missed

Everton hero Tim Cahill has criticised their current campaign.

The Australian made 278 appearances for the club in an eight year stint at Goodison where he became a fan favourite.

“It's confusing. I think they're confused too," he told Sky Sports.

“I feel we've lost our identity as a club, there's nothing we're stamping and really building around.

“Forget about before, when I was there and a few of the other players were there, but we had a basis that was built and we were adding to it and looking for the long-term plan of how we're going to evolve as a football club.

“Now it seems like we're just making signings and the chemistry is not there on the pitch, it's just not linking well."

Cahill feels Evertonians now appreciate what they had with former manager David Moyes.

"For the fans, they want some passion, they want an identity so when you look back, even to Roberto Martinez's style of football, maybe the Everton fans were impatient waiting for that style of football.

“Under David Moyes, maybe they thought it was getting stale.

“But now you can also appreciate what you've lost."
