Everton fullback Leighton Baines remains hopeful of a late run into England's World Cup squad.
Baines is hoping to catch the eye of England coach Fabio Capello against Chelsea today.
"I don't think anyone could argue with Ashley Cole (being first choice)," he told evertonTV. "For me he is the best left-back around, no question. But there will be a few of the England boys on show and I'm sure the England manager will be paying close attention to the game. So there is that extra incentive to really go out and put in a performance.
"I've always been a massive admirer of Ashley Cole. Right from his younger days at Arsenal, it's fair to say that I was in awe of him. I think he's showing that form again right now. He's back to his very best, I think; playing some wonderful stuff."
