Everton do not expect Stones knock to be serious

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes the knee injury suffered by John Stones in the Capital One Cup victory against Reading is nothing to worry about.

The defender was substituted in the 49th minute of the 2-1 come-from-behind victory at the Madejski Stadium but is expected to be fine for Monday night's Premier League meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

"It was more precaution than anything," Martinez said.

"He had a little bit of a knock on his right knee and we couldn't take any risks. He is going to be assessed over the next 48 hours but I don't expect it to be anything too serious."
