Everton defender Patterson delighted to now be fully fit

Everton defender Nathan Patterson is delighted to now be fully fit.

The Scot has battled with injury problems, including his season.

Before he was stretchered off in Scotland's tie with Ukraine, Patterson had enjoyed a strong start to the campaign.

He made the first eleven for each of the first six games of the season - excelling in a frenetic Merseyside derby that ended goalless.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “I've played in a few Old Firms but the Merseyside derby is up there with that as well. I was looking forward to the derby, I love a derby and it's great to have that rivalry between two teams. I felt on the day we were the better team and a wee bit unlucky."

On his injury, Patterson added: “It was really disappointing. I felt as if I was coming into a game and really looking forward to each game and trying to step on. It came at a bad time and it was difficult to tackle but I put my head down and worked hard with the physios and I'm back now."
