Everton defender Ashley Williams admits he considered quitting Wales after their World Cup qualifying failure.
The 33-year-old said he spoke to friends and family about his options in the aftermath of Republic of Ireland's crushing 1-0 win in Cardiff last October.
"It was just so disappointing missing out on the World Cup that I had to think about it," admitted Williams.
"I spoke to the people closest to me and stuff. I didn't want to retire or anything like that, but I felt like it was something that I should think about, and see where I was at with club and international football, and life in general.
"I did give that a thought, but then I decided I wanted to keep doing it anyway. It's about getting back to where we were at the Euros."
