Everton have announced the sale of Jermaine Beckford to Leicester City.

Beckford moves to the Foxes for a fee rising to £4 million.

The deal, worth an initial £3m, was agreed late on transfer deadline day.

The striker leaves Everton just one season after arriving on a free transfer and will link up with the big-spending Championship outfit.

Beckford has agreed a four-year deal with Sven-Goran Eriksson's side.
