Everton are showing considerable interest in Marseille star Dimitri Payet.

The Guardian is of the belief that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is keen on the attacking midfielder as he looks to strengthen his squad in the summer.

Payet, 28, was watched on several occasions by Everton scouts last term and Martinez is interested in luring him to the Premier League despite the fact that Tom Cleverley has already been snapped up by the Merseysiders.

The France international arrived at Marseille from Lille in the summer of 2013 and last season netted seven goals for Ligue 1's fourth-placed finishers.
