Everton closing on deal for former Watford manager Marco Silva

Everton are closing on a deal for former Watford manager Marco Silva.

The Mirror says Silva is on course to be confirmed as Everton's new boss in the next ten days.

Everton have been searching for a new manager after sacking Sam Allardyce who only took over from Ronald Koeman in October.

New technical director Marcel Brands, recruited from PSV Eindhoven, is in charge of the process after replacing director of football Steve Walsh.

But Brands' switch from the Dutch champions to Goodison Park does not officially start until Friday June 1.

So while talks are on-going between Everton and Silva , it is set to be the end of next week or start of the following week before any deal is announced.

Silva's appointment will follow long-running interest in the Portuguese coach,40, from Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, the Iranian billionaire.
