Everton challenge Wolves for Atletico Madrid attacker Matheus Cunha

Everton are one of several Premier League clubs hoping to secure Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid.

The attacker was linked to Manchester United in the summer, but reportedly turned down that move.

However, Cunha has struggled with life under Diego Simeone at Atleti, playing a bit part role behind the likes of Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann, and Alvaro Morata.

Spanish radio station Cadena SER states that Wolves are one club who are chasing Cunha through their relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes.

However, they add that Everton are also curious about Cunha, while Aston Villa may also be involved in the race.

It is unclear if Cunha would consider leaving Atleti for teams not even in the Europa League.
