Everton boss Marco Silva says Jean-Philippe Gbamin will be better for his debut in their 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.
Gbamin joined Everton from Mainz 05 eight days ago and was given a quick introduction to the Premier League following Andre Gomes' ankle injury.
“I am here to work and manage the players and give them the right time to adapt," said Silva.
“I know the expectations [on Everton's summer signings] are high – but some of the players are really young.
“JP [Gbamin] has a bit more experience – he is 23 – but he needs more time to adapt.
“He will adapt faster with games and win the confidence he needs because he has the quality."
