Everton boss David Moyes is tracking West Bromwich Albion centre-half Craig Dawson.
The People says Moyes has sent his top spy to watch highly-rated Dawson, 21, in the Baggies reserves.
Although Dawson, 21, has yet to claim a regular place in Roy Hodgson's first team, he figures in Albion's long-term plans.
But a bid to take the defender to Goodison Park is on the cards.
