Everton boss David Moyes has revealed how a bust-up with Duncan Ferguson on his final day as a player at the club has now been forgiven.
Moyes made the revelation at a fans' function last week.
The Liverpool Echo says Moyes recalled when the time came to inform Ferguson he would not be renewing his contract in 2006. He explained how he gave his countryman the news in his office and then offered him his hand.
Ferguson, full of misdirected anger and perhaps sadness, refused to shake it. Fast forward six years, and Ferguson is back. Earlier this year he let it be known he would love to visit Finch Farm and meet Moyes again, as he attempts to become a qualified coach.
Moyes agreed to the reunion, the pair having not spoken a word in the meantime.
At their meeting Ferguson surprised Moyes by admitting that every single day he has regretted not shaking his hand.
