Everton boss Moyes refuses to give up on Donovan return

Everton boss David Moyes is upbeat over their chances of re-signing LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan.

Donovan admitted a return to Goodison on loan could happen during the 2010/11 season.

Moyes told evertonfc.com: "I think we could possibly get him on loan but I don't know if we will need that in two or three months time. I'm sure Landon would be keen to come back and we would be happy to have him as well but it is hard to say what our priorities will be once the transfer window has closed."

The 28-year-old forward proved a huge hit during a loan spell at Goodison last term and the player himself has admitted he would like to return to Goodison Park.

Moyes added: "Landon did really well in his loan period (last season). But he is the MLS' most expensive player.

"I think Landon would like to come but the price for a player of his age is too much - and that is money we don't have anyway. If we could get Landon, then I would have him all day long because he did well for us. But it has to be right for the club."
