Everton boss Moyes "not surprised" by McFadden negativity

Everton boss David Moyes isn't surprised by the criticism of the free transfer of James McFadden.

He said he takes criticism of McFadden's return in his stride.

"I'm not surprised at the negativity. If it's a sign, people should remember the windows are shut.

"It might not be the answer but it's for nothing. Let's say this was September before the window shut, we didn't have money to buy a centre-forward there so what if I'd brought him in then? He might just give us a little more.

"All we can do is try and get Faddy fit. If we can't then everyone who was negative was right and that's the way it is.

"What we're trying to do is focus on the games. If we'd won three and brought McFadden in you might have people saying it's good. Everyone knows the club's situation, we're desperately in need of new investment and the chairman is out there trying to do it."
