Everton boss David Moyes admits his current squad is the best he's had.

Moyes believes his current crop of players is the most exciting he's presided over since his arrival over 10 years ago.

"The answer to that would be 'yes'," said Moyes, when asked if this was the most exciting team he's managed. "I think our football since the Manchester United game has been excellent.

"But I'd never want to take away from all the other things - the determination, the good character and all the things I would hope from every Everton team, even when we have flair and all the ability in it as well.

"The players who played in 2004/05 were very consistent and could grind out a lot of victories and won one or two really important games when it mattered.

"This team we have got now are slightly different, we have flair players and different types of players. I am hopeful we can try and do it [finish in the top four] but it's a big ask and a long way to go."
