Everton boss Moyes heaps praise on potential player of the year Cahill

Everton boss David Moyes believes Tim Cahill should deserve more recognition and could possibly be named player of the year. The Socceroos star has played a different role at times this season with a number of Everton strikers injured and Moyes has praised his efforts in trying circumstances.

"I think Tim is all about the spirit he gives to the team and his all round play," Moyes told evertonTV.

"It's not always just his form in the game, it's what he gives to the team and what he gives to the Club.

"Maybe people in time will look at Tim and see him as a player whose worthy of that top spot (player of the season).

"I think he's shown a real spirit for the team which is very important to any club," he added. "Maybe some day he will get rewarded, but he's playing in a team that is playing very well at the moment and so he's getting rewarded with that.

"He gets credit from Evertonians and people in the Club, but does he throughout the game? I think the media thinks Tim Cahill does a great job, so I think they give him credit."
