Everton boss Moyes happy seeing Hodgson enjoying success at West Brom

Everton boss David Moyes is happy seeing Roy Hodgson making a success of his job at West Bromwich Albion.

Moyes felt for Hodgson during his problems at Liverpool.

Hodgson has restored his reputation since his ill-starred stint at Anfield and Moyes said: "I did have sympathy for Roy because he had earned his move to Liverpool. To get a club like Fulham into a European final was incredible. Roy probably just came in at the wrong time for that job and maybe Kenny (Dalglish) was always the favourite.

"But he's back on track and nobody should be surprised. He's had a great managerial career. Roy doesn't need to prove himself to anybody.

"We understand ours is a fickle business," added Moyes, nearing his 10th anniversary at Goodison Park.

"But I'm determined to keep this going and hang on in there even more so when people say it's hard for Everton because they don't have the finances. I grit my teeth even more and say, 'come on, let's go again, we have to show we can do it again'.

"I'd love to get to a Cup final and get Everton in Europe because I think this is one of those clubs that need European football. This is a great football club and I'm trying to keep the 'great' there if possible."
