Everton boss Dave Moyes is delighted with the form this season of his Nigeria defender Joseph Yobo.

"I think both Joseph and Joleon Lescott have played really well in the last few months," said Moyes. "There is a real good understanding about their partnership and they have both come on a great deal.

"But I think Joseph being made captain at Derby County not so long ago gave him a lot of confidence.

"He stepped up to it when people were out. He understands that he has got a big part to play at the club.

"Hopefully there is more to come. He has been here five years with us now and I remember saying when he first came here that central defenders get better with age and the more experience they get.

"He is doing a good job at the moment."
