Everton boss David Moyes feels Marouane Fellaini deserves better protection from match officials.

Moyes was angered by Wigan Athletic's tactics and does not feel Fellaini was in the wrong.

"Fellaini needs more protection," said the manager.

"He was two foot above Figueroa and anyone who has played the game knows you need to use your arms to get elevation.

"I can't understand why when we have a corner what Fellaini would be doing to the Wigan players? Why would he be trying to foul?"
