Everton boss Frank Lampard is happy seeing Steven Gerrard in charge at Aston Villa.
The two former England teammates will face-off this weekend.
Lampard said, "We didn't discuss the coach's role as players, but more often when we both worked in the media. Stevie was working at Liverpool at the time and I was doing my courses.
"We are both driven and had a plan and an idea of what we wanted. I was pleased to see Steven do well as we need more good young English coaches.
"I know Stevie is a hard worker so I'm delighted he's done so well with Rangers and is now at a club with the quality of Aston Villa."
