Everton boss Koeman: I love Calvert-Lewin's phenomenal attitude

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has thrown down the gauntlet to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Calvert-Lewin scored his first Everton goal against Hull City and finished the campaign with 11 appearances to his name - an achievement even the 20-year-old admitted he could not have foreseen happening so quickly after signing for the Club.

This was followed by a starring role at the Under-20s World Cup, which included scoring the winner for England against Venezuela in the final.

"He deserved to start matches last season and he is progressing well, but he needs to progress more because he is still only 20 years old," Koeman said.

“He's physically strong, which makes him a little bit different than the likes of [Tom] Davies and some of our other young players.

“He can play in different positions up front. He's really improving in his movement and finishing, and that makes him a first-team player.

“But he's a good boy who is serious and has a phenomenal attitude, which is what we like."
