Everton boss Sean Dyche refused to condemn Harry Kane after Tottenham's 1-1 draw at Everton on Monday night.
Michael Keane earned Everton the point with a 90th minute equaliser having given away the penalty converted by Harry Kane earlier.
However, it was Kane's actions which saw Abdoulaye Doucoure sent off which was the flashpoint of the game. Kane was caught by Doucoure as they tussled and went down as if caught by a forearm smash.
Home fans chanted 'cheat, cheat' as Doucoure furiously protested, with Blues captain Seamus Coleman turning on Kane after the final whistle.
But Dyche later said: "You can't lay hands on an opponent. We know that.
"The only disappointment is that I couldn't understand why Harry went into the initial challenge with Dimi (Demarai Gray) because the ref had already blown his whistle."
Dyche also said: "I am proud of the players. They were terrific after going behind. I was aware of the noise around the club before I came. I asked the fans to give us a chance and the energy they've brought means a lot to the players."
