Everton boss Dyche adamant goals will happen for Calvert-Lewin

Everton boss Sean Dyche is adamant goals are around the corner for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The striker goes in today's early kickoff against Tottenham struggling for goals.

But asked how Calvert-Lewin is doing, Dyche said: “Fine. It's not just down to him.

“There is a group of players and the other night there were chances for various people. There is an expectation on everyone to score.

“I know it is an ideology but you want everyone to defend, you want everyone to attack, and you want everyone to understand both sides of their own performance and link it together as a team. I am certainly not looking at Dom and going 'why aren't you scoring?', I am looking at everyone and saying 'why aren't you scoring?'

“That is the responsibility and I think that is a more powerful thing than one player. I think it is everyone's responsibility."

He added: “Dom will just feel that he wants to score goals. That is what goalscorers do, they thrive off scoring goals so I don't think he will be thinking anything other than continually looking at adapting his performances to try and score goals.

“The key for me is getting in the right areas to score, the other night he certainly was. He had maybe five chances… so he is getting into the right areas.

“You have to keep doing that to believe that you will score. That belief is still there and I think that is important."
