Everton attacker James McFadden has taken aim at Celtic.

He has made just one start and three sub appearances since returning to the Toffees last October and revealed he was far from impressed by boyhood heroes Celtic's interest in him.

He told the Scottish Sun: "Basically, they wanted me to go on trial and it was pretty convenient, you know, the timing of the AGM and stuff.

"A lot was said about me going there and none of it came from my side.

"The communication wasn't great. I don't have any ill-feeling towards Celtic, but I just didn't see that there was a massive desire to sign me."
