Everton attacker James slams Colombia snub: Just tell me the truth!

Everton attacker James Rodriguez has hit out at his Colombia snub.

James was snubbed by coach Reinaldo Rueda for the Copa America over claims he wasn't fit for Colombia's World Cup qualifiers. Rueda had claimed the decision was made in partnership with Everton - which the club has since rejected.

"I'm fine," said James. "It must be made clear that I was not injured, I was here to play the Copa America.

"It was a decision of the coaching staff, but I do not share it because they disrespected me. Another thing is that they tell me that they do not count on me because they do not like me as a player, then I shrug my shoulders and leave.

"There are many who say that I was not fit, but remember that when I was not fit I put the shirt on and of the 80 games that I have played, only in five I did it injured.

“I want the boys to win, I wanted to be there. If I say that I would not be a liar."
