European night did not go as planned for Man City striker Bony

Niall Quinn felt Wilfried Bony had a night to forget for Manchester City.

The Ivorian striker, who slotted into Sergio Aguero's vacancy with a double against Bournemouth on Saturday, was not at his best as City somehow conjured a 2-1 victory against Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday.

After the match, Quinn spoke on Sky Sports about Bony's display and felt that it left a little to be desired as Manuel Pellegrini's side strives to fill the void left by the commanding Aguero.

"It didn't happen at all for Bony. There was another incident when he turned his back on play after some good work from (Raheem) Sterling," Quinn said on Soccer Special.

"The crowd got up, and you could hear some booing, and then he was taken off for a midfielder (Fernando).

"It's difficult without Aguero, difficult without (David) Silva, but thankfully (Yaya) Toure was there to offer some resemblance of a robust Manchester City attacking unit. There's lot to improve on for City."
