EUROPA LEAGUE WRAP: Juventus, Valencia, Benfica through to quarters

The 2013/14 UEFA Europa League Round of 16 is now complete following Thursday night's second leg fixtures.

Italian champions Juventus are through to the quarter-finals after beating Serie A rivals Fiorentina 2-1 on aggregate courtesy of a 1-0 second leg victory at the Stadio Artemi Franchi.

Andrea Pirlo scored the only goal of the contest with just under 20 minutes remaining as Antonio Conte's men staked their claim for another European trophy.

Spanish side Valencia eased past Bulgarian surprise packet Ludogorets Razgrad 1-0 on Thursday night following their 3-0 first leg win in Sofia last week while Sevilla required a two-goal second leg win and a penalty shootout to get past La Liga rivals Real Betis.

Jose Antonio Reyes and Carlos Bacca netted either side of the break for Sevilla, who lost at home 2-0 last week, before Unai Emery's men triumphed 4-3 in the shootout.

Portuguese giants Benfica were held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham in Lisbon but did enough in the first leg to produce a 5-3 aggregate win as FC Porto made it two Portuguese teams in the final eight by beating Italy's Napoli 3-2 on aggregate.

Porto won 1-0 at home last Thursday and managed to hold the Naples side to a 2-2 draw at the Stadio San Paolo to book their spot in the quarters.

Dutch club AZ Alkmaar held Anzhi Makhachkala to a 0-0 draw in Russia to triumph 1-0 on aggregate, French side Lyon lost 2-1 at Viktoria Plzen but progressed 5-3 over the Czechs while FC Basel came from behind to eliminate Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 in Austria after a scoreless first leg in Switzerland.

The draw for the Europa League quarter-finals will be held on Friday with the first legs to be played on April 3 and second legs on April 10.
