Swansea City are through to the knockout phase of the Europa League despite a 1-0 loss to St Gallen in Switzerland tonight.
The Jacks have managed to finish second on the Group A even though they were beaten in their past two matches - by group winners Valencia 1-0 at home - and now by St Gallen at the AFG Arena.
Michael Laudrup's were aware that a draw would guarantee them a berth in the Round of 32 but luckily in the other group match, Kuban Krasnodar were unable to beat Valencia, allowing Swansea to move through.
On a very difficult night, affected by low temperatures and hanging fog, Swansea produced little in the way of quality scoring chances although Roland Lamah did go close twice in the first half.
However, it was a poor second-half showing from the visitors who allowed Marco Mathys to find the back of the net from close range with ten minutes remaining.
Swansea ended the group stage with two wins, two draws and two losses for a total of eight points - five behind Valencia - and will now go into Monday's draw as un unseeded team.
