Joe Ledley has thanked Crystal Palace and Wales physio Sean Connelly for helping him recover from a broken leg in just five weeks.
The midfielder set up Hal Robson-Kanu's winner over Slovakia after going on as a second-half substitute, just 35 days after breaking his leg against Stoke.
"I've got to give Sean the credit because without him I don't think I'd have been here today," Ledley told Standard Sport.
"Five weeks ago, I never thought I would be playing at the Euros. When I had the scans back and saw the fracture, me and the majority of the staff thought it was game over. But I started to think I had a chance about a week after I did it. Sean was confident I could do it."
Ledley's injury ruled him out of Palace's FA Cup Final defeat against Manchester United and he added: "It's been an emotional roller-coaster for five weeks, so to be here now is a fantastic achievement."
