Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has urged the Italian supporters to wear their blue Azzurri shirt for the upcoming Euro2016 game against the Republic of Ireland.

Italy national coach Antonio Conte has already made a similar appeal to the fans ahead of the final Group E game in Lille on Wednesday.

"As the gaffer has already done, we - the players - also launch this appeal, which is to be united for the Azzurri shirt," he told UEFA.com.

"It should be an honour to wear it and a great responsibility when you go out on the pitch because we realise that we're representing an entire nation."
